They definitely fight in this show, but it's not actual, serious fighting against true enemies. This entire show is it's own comedy relief. Especially if you watch it AFTER Sonic X and Prime. Sonic's a little more sassy in this, and Knuckles was basically nerfed.

Opinions

I know that I usually start these off with negative opinions, which I'll add positive ones to later, but for this one I'm going to change it up. See, Sonic Boom is probably my favorite show out of the three that I've watched, if not Sonic Prime. Me whining about the characters not expressing enough emotion is unnecessary when they aren't placed in situations that would evoke those emotions. Sonic is wonderfully sassy and I really like that from him. Amy's character isn't just her having a crush on Sonic (unlike in Sonic X). I've never met Sticks before, so a "new" character was nice as well. I love the way everyone's designs have changed subtly. I think Tails' is one of my favorites. I also somewhat appreciate the short length of the episodes, and the 4th wall breaks are epic. Outside of the main characters, Dave the Intern is easily my favorite character. He's on his breaaak.....

Now for a bit of negative opinion, though. They kind of address this in the show, which I really appreciate (and it kind of makes this a less negative opinion for that reason). Knuckles is STUPID. Like, to the point of grammatical errors and honestly embarrassing behavior coming from him. I understand that he was supposed to be some sort of comedy relief, but as I said in the first paragraph, this entire show is comedy relief. Sonic's new attitude and their new situations take care of the "issue" completely. While Knuckles is occasionally funny, sometimes I just cringe at his behavior. Specifically when he makes grammatical errors, because they're inconsistent. I don't know if this is just the show being uncreative, or desperate for some kind of comedy, or what. But Knuckles has shown that he knows how to use basic grammar, and the fact that he randomly doesn't just to be funny is just dumb. Of course, overall I do like his character, just significantly less than the rest of the cast. I think one of my favorite moments is when Knuckles goes on that educated rant about feminism while everyone's bewildered by his new vocabulary. Making dumb characters smart is funny, but making dumb characters dumber is just redundant, imo. Now, in the beginning I said that the show mentions this, which is another one of my favorite Knuckles moments. He was asked to guard some sort of gem, and he said, "Sure! People are complaining that I haven't been guarding enough rare gems, anyway." Obviously referencing the Master Emerald. I don't know why it's absence would make Knuckles an idiot, but I feel like it was addressed somehow.
